Many people now use the internet as an online "telephone book" when looking to purchase products and services, making a website an essential investment for any modern business.

Swansea ITeC can provide the essential skills for developing your own company website covering all aspects of the development process including:

  • Design
  • Content Management
  • Accessibility

Software and Skills

For our courses we use industry standard well-recognised web development software including:

  • Microsoft Frontpage
    • Introduction to Frontpage
    • Frontpage Advanced
  • Adobe DreamWeaver
    • Introduction to Dreamweaver
    • Intermediate Dreamweaver
    • Advanced Dreamweaver
  • Adobe Flash
  • Macromedia Contribute

We can also provide more advanced technical training for website developers in coding tools such as:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Java
  • PHP
  • ASP

Web Content Management Systems

Unlike Web-site editors like Microsoft FrontPage or Adobe Dreamweaver, a Web Content Management System allows non-technical users to make changes to an existing website easily.

A Web Content Management System typically requires an experienced coder to set up and add features, but is primarily a Web-site maintenance tool for non-technical administrators.

We can assist and support in setting up a Web Content Management System to your requirements.  This can include:

  • Uploading and configuring system files and MySQL database
  • Designing and editing templates (css)
  • Installing and configuring extensions/components and widgets
  • Adding content and creating menus
There are a number of free, open source, WCMS we can assist with and offer bespoke training in:

Prerequisites

You should be comfortable using a personal computer and Microsoft Windows but no prior knowledge of web design is required for the introductory courses.
